Highlights

On 28 September – 2 October 2003 in Bogor, Indonesia, ASEF ClassNet teachers convened to share different ICT, pedagogical and intercultural practices adopted across Asia and Europe, and learnt how to adapt these to their own professional environment.

Programme overview

68 secondary and high school teachers and educators from 14 ASEM partner countries participated in the largest ASEF ClassNet conference to date. Through a blend of workshops, visits and plenary sessions, participants engaged with the latest ICT education trends and the challenges of education in multi-cultural societies, before practically considering the resulting pedagogical opportunities. Participants were also treated to an official visit to the Presidential Palace.

As well as recognising the previous year’s Online Collaborations with the presentation of the ASEF ClassNet Awards, teachers agreed to coordinate 7 new, and 4 existing, Online Collaboration during the next year. Before the conclusion of the conference, the network agreed to alternate the venue of the annual ASEF ClassNet Conference between Asia and Europe.
