Programme overview |
55 secondary and high school teachers and educators from 16 countries across Asia and Europe gathered to learn from experts and share experiences of developing intercultural understanding through the use of ICT in their classrooms. Building on good practice in Asia and Europe, participants reflected on the new opportunities for co-operation as a result of advancing technology during plenary sessions, working groups and interactive presentations. Participants then saw how some of these practices had been adopted during their visit to a local school and the National Centre for Professional Development in Education. During the conference, plans for the coordination of 9 new, and 3 existing, Online Collaborations were finalised by the ASEF ClassNet teachers. Furthermore, the inaugural ASEF ClassNet Awards were presented to the most outstanding ASEF ClassNet Online Collaborations of the previous year in recognition of their efforts to facilitate better intercultural understanding and use of ICT in education. Buoyed by the success of the 2nd edition, the first to be held in Europe, members agreed that future ASEF ClassNet Conferences should be held annually to maintain the project’s momentum. |
