Returning to Europe, the ASEF Classroom Network addressed the topic of integrating ICT in education; for some a dream, but for others a nightmare. To varying degrees, this was already a reality for many ASEF ClassNet members, and there was much to learn and share on 27 September - 1 October 2004 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
On 28 September – 2 October 2003 in Bogor, Indonesia, ASEF ClassNet teachers convened to share different ICT, pedagogical and intercultural practices adopted across Asia and Europe, and learnt how to adapt these to their own professional environment.
Building on the first conference, ASEF ClassNet members gathered on 11-14 September 2002 in Tampere, Finland to learn from experts and share experiences of developing intercultural understanding through the use of ICT in their classrooms. Their endeavours during the previous year were recognised with the presentation of the inaugural ASEF ClassNet Awards.
At the inaugural conference on 2-5 September 2001 in Singapore, ASEF brought together teachers from across Asia and Europe who shared the desire to develop cross-cultural exchanges and ways of using the Internet as an education tool; the ASEF Classroom Network was born and its first Online Collaborations were proposed.
