About the Past

“About the Past” was a project for students to investigate events in history by collecting oral evidence from observers and participants of historical events. The project provided students with first-hand experience in social history. Students were also expected to complement the evidence from their oral interviews with archival research work. This project aimed to achieve greater inter-generational bonding by having students interviewing senior members of the community and appreciating their experiences, from which the youth could learn.
