Body Language in Asia and Europe

This project sought to foster deeper understanding between pupils in Europe and Asia through the analysis of gestures in pictures. This would encourage greater understanding when Europeans meet Asians, and vice versa. The project also fostered amongst participants, a sense of the importance of using foreign languages and an awareness of the importance of participating in international projects. Each student chose a gesture and wrote a short descriptive text about the picture, explaining the gesture in English and in their mother tongue. The students then analyzed the pictures posted by those in other countries. The sessions led to thought-provoking and inspiring discussions regarding different cultures.
