Eco-Heroes in Action

Title Eco-Heroes in Action
Theme Environment and Sustainable Development
Year 2015
Status Completed
Award
Description

Continuing the success of the previous editions of the Eco-heroes in Action, the project in 2015 provided opportunities for the students to engage in collaborative learning tasks which required them to research and to promote national and local eco-heroes in their regions. Students connected with each other via an Elgg-powered platform plus a Facebook page. They discussed heroic issues, created multimedia presentations and promoted advocacies. The “Eco-Heroes in Action” project encourages students in the participating schools in Asia and Europe to actively engage in shaping a more inclusive, peaceful and sustainable world by taking action in global educational outreach campaigns and service projects (e.g. the global ENO programmed, GYSD, Earth Day, Compassion Games). The project culminated in the dissemination of information about the overall learning procedure and presentation of the project to other students, teachers and local decision-makers.
