Description |
This project looked at the practice of gift-giving to compare the similarities and differences between Asian and European traditions. The types of gifts given by people on particular events reveal much about their culture and background. Studying the art of gift-giving helps people understand and get to know each other better. Students communicated via social networks, and introduced the various gift-giving traditions in their countries. They used pictures, videos, or drawings to present information. Some holidays and festivals were pre-selected as initial topics for discussion. Students also participated in a role-playing game, during which they acted as tourists in another country looking for souvenirs to give to friends and family. Ideas were exchanged, and further insights into each other’s culture offered. |
