Description |
A school is/should be a place that promotes responsibility, respect, civility and academic excellence in a safe learning and teaching environment. This project aimed at getting to know the code of conduct and dress code of the participating schools. Students were expected to translate their school rules and carry out a vibrant discussion about them. As we all know, rules are essential in every community and they are ways of making life more pleasant, smooth and safe. It is believed that students have a genuine interest in finding out as much as possible about how foreign schools look and function, and, in particular what their rules are. By getting an insight into the different schools, and debating some issues such as the controversial school uniform topic students developed their debating skills and exchanged views in a way that left us all the wiser. Students were also invited to reflect on some recent articles that address particular issues. Students were expected to research, express their views and reflect on others’ views, conduct surveys and learn from each other. All in all, these school-related issues brought about interesting and lively debate. |
