Description |
This project aimed to give students the opportunity to explore specific fields of ancient daily life of each culture participating, namely toys-games, food (with emphasis for ancient Greek civilization on oil and wine and an examination of the symposium), houses, costumes and travelling by ship. Students in this project were expected to explore and to experience as vividly as possible the ways in which different cultures and different ages responded to the same daily needs. Crossing the borders of time and place can offer the opportunity to young students to question and re-examine their attitude to the “strange” past or to the remote global “neighbors”, thus cultivating their tolerance and their understanding of the “other”. |
