The project dealt with culture in various forms in Indonesia and in Sweden. The title refers to the names of two dances that may symbolise culture life in the two regions/countries. The students in Sweden and Indonesia worked together to study the main elements of culture life in Java, Indonesia and in the province of Halsingland (Bollnas), Sweden. The students explored their traditional folkdances, encouraging cultural exchange and enhancement of the students’ awareness of their ancestors’ traditional values. The main topics of the students’ studies were: – Religious traditions and ceremonies and their impact in everyday life.(Oct- Dec/Jan) – Traditions (among other things folkdance-traditions) (Feb-March/April) – Traditional literature (April–May/June) – Craft (Oct-June) The students themselves exchanged the facts, discussed the topics and produced the result of their cooperation during the project year! |
