The Power of Songs

Music fills up our life and surrounds us, wherever we live. Styles may vary depending on time, place and tastes but music is still there. In itself, a melody is always meaningful but it can be made even more significant and powerful when lyrics are added to it. This project focused on how songs can affect and touch us, and on how they can influence us and the world we live in. Each participant selected songs whose lyrics appeal to them for their power in expressing ideas or ideals. Using a range of ICT allowed them to share lyrics, record their own songs and discuss song meanings, students explored the power of these songs with their peers.
