The World in a Book

One of the shortlisted projects for the ASEF ClassNet Award in 2006, this project consisted of in-tandem reading activities; the students of two classes of different nationalities shared the experience of reading and analyzing a literary work written in English, and discussed its main issues. The students had to be interested in the book chosen, in the issues it contains, and in collaborating with foreign students through online discussions in order to exchange opinions and ideas. They then found the most effective procedures to negotiate and mediate with the foreign students, with the aim of producing common assignments and webpages concerning both the analysis of the book and the personal development of the topics that interested the students. Their findings were collated and published on their project website.
