Story |
According to me, ASEF Classroom Network (ASEF ClassNet) is a platform which helps me to see education in a different way. It makes me realise that education can, indeed, be fun. Education need not be confined to the four walls of the classrooms. Education goes beyond classrooms and as the name suggests ASEF Classroom Network connects classrooms from across the two regions. Ever since I started working for ASEF ClassNet Online Collaborations, I have had a really good time. By working on ASEF ClassNet Online Collaborations, I have learnt to correspond with people, learnt ICT web tools, and understand other important aspects of group working, leadership etc. I first took part in the ASEF ClassNet Online Collaborations when I was in the 8th grade. Through the ASEF ClassNet Online Collaboration, I made a number of friends. I learnt a numerous ICT tools like video calling, working with Google documents, translation in Google Translator, uploading videos and audio files on the net, and many more. The best part is that I have gained so much of knowledge by just spending little time on the net every day. ASEF ClassNet is an all-in-one platform which helps us to learn, interact, enjoy and collaborate. From a student’s point of view, I believe that every student can gain a lot. There can be no other way to learn so much in such a short period of time. Last year in November, I was thrilled and honoured to take part in the 9th ASEF Classroom Network Conference, which was held in Gurgaon, NCR of Delhi, India co-organised by my School, St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School and the Asia-Europe Foundation. It was really great to interact with people living in such far-away places and knowing a lot about their lifestyles and the way they study, teach and understand things. The ASEF ClassNet Conference was an experience which I can never ever forget. It will always be cherished by me. I had been working, interacting and sharing everything with people from all across the two regions. It was really inspiring to meet our friends and educators living in far-away places face-to-face. I realised that this is what is called FACE-TO-FACE INTERACTION. Moreover, it was great to see people from different countries working together. It was really amazing to see the camaraderie between educators and students of the two continents. I feel ASEF ClassNet makes virtual REAL. Not many years ago, it was difficult to know about countries, people, lifestyles, culture,…today, thanks to ASEF ClassNet everything is possible. We make online friends, then meet them in person. We learn to respect people in spite of their diversity. We learn to be tolerant and also live in harmony. To sum up, I must say, the ASEF ClassNet teaches all of us the very essence of HUMANITY. |
